Introduction

Addison County Transit Resources (ACTR) was incorporated in November 1992 with assistance from the Addison County Regional Planning Commission, and began providing transit services in January 1993. In our first full year of service, ACTR arranged almost 4,000 rides for county residents through a volunteer driver system.

Since then, ACTR has grown tremendously. We now own thirteen lift-equipped/wheelchair-accessible vehicles and provide over 109,000 rides each year through several major programs. Along with offering transit services for all members of the public, ACTR has many programs that focus on specialized populations including elders, persons with disabilities and low-income families and individuals. In addition, ACTR partners with many area organizations and businesses to provide transportation for special public events.
